The Elements

The classical elements are a key feature of the Wiccan world-view. Every manifest force or form is seen to express one of the four archetypal elements — Earth, Air, Fire and Water — or several in combination. Some add a fifth or quintessential element called Spirit (also called aether or akasha). The five points of the frequently worn pentagram symbolize, among other things, the four elements with spirit presiding at the top. In the casting of a magic circle, the four cardinal elements are visualized as contributing their influence from the four cardinal directions.

For centuries people have tried to vilify the Wiccan Religion, their beliefs being that those that followed the faith were "Devil Worshipers". In reality, Wiccans do not believe in the devil because in order to do so, we would have to believe in Christianity. For those that think the pentagram is a sign of "Devil Worship" think again. If you look at the pentagram used by those that do practice devil worship, you will see that they present the pentagram upside-down, and not in the normal right-side up  position that Wiccans present it in.
